Robert Downey Jr to star in Captain America 3

This storyline – which will trigger a new phase of Marvel films – is significant as the plot will pit Stark as a villain against Captain America's alter-ego Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).
The two will lock heads over the Superhero Registration Act which forces anybody with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities in order to work as a police force for governmental authorities – while Stark supports the program, Rogers opposes it.
Marvel have also announced plans to reboot the Civil War comicbook miniseries in order to introduce the story to new readers.
Downey Jr – who starred in Marvel's film franchise debut Iron Man in 2008 – recently downplayed talks of a fourth Iron Man film, but expressed his desire to remain a part of Marvel's cinematic output once his current contract expires after the third Avengers outing.
Filmmaking brothers Anthony and Joe Russo will return to direct following the box office success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier on this year.
Marvel Studios have 11 releases scheduled until 2019, including next year's Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.
Both Captain America and Iron Man will next be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron – the sequel to 2012's Avengers Assemble – which is released on April 24.
