good year for hip-hop and some of our favorite artists have acquired
some nice fruit for their labor. Kendrick Lamar lands at No. 13 with $12 million, underscoring his status as a critical favorite with To Pimp a Butterfly, a dense, jazz-inflected record that denied fans sing-along hits, yet still sold 324,000 copies in its first week. In addition, both Kanye West and Dr. Dre have no problem speaking their minds.
