MUSIC: Yemi Alade blast BET for allegedly 'undermining Africa'

Amidst all the hype surrounding the BET Awards, hosted on June 28 in Los Angeles, Yemi Alade has lashed out at organizers of the event, accusing them of "undermining Africa", Naij reports. After being nominated in the Best International Act (Africa) category at the prestigious event, the Johny hitmaker took to her Instagram account to express her frustration at the way the event was organised. According to the post, Alade posted a picture of herself looking displeased, along with the caption: "When bae says
he misses you... #imaginaryBae By the way … @bet_intl Africa is not a country!!!… It is wrong to nominate huge African stars and publicly try to humiliate Africa. Why on Earth is the African category of the awards held hours before the main event? If African artistes are not worthy in your sight. Pls by all means cancel delete, omit best international act (Africa) category out of the glorified awards. This is wrong!!! Wrong wrong wrong. Meanwhile Pls next time, credibility over padypady!!” Alade has since removed the caption, leaving only "When bae says he misses you... #imaginaryBAE".
