Tollywood actor held; cocaine seized


HYDERABAD: Police arrested a Nigerian national and a Tollywood actor under drug peddling charges at Jubilee Hills checkpost on Monday. They seized 15 grams of cocaine from their possession. Police have taken Rotimi Olusola Kehinde alias Sola alias Sultan, 29, from Lagos state, Nigeria, and Nanduri Uday Kiran, 29, a Tollywood actor from flat No. 102, Vishnu Heights Apartment, Yellareddyguda. Kehinde had visited India four times since 2009 and he has been continuously staying here since June 2013 on a business visa. He along with other Nigerians used to stay at Employees' Colony at Lothkunta. Since the past few years, Kehinde has been purchasing cocaine from one Delhi-based Sudanese national Hakeem and selling it to customers in Bangalore and Hyderabad for a higher price. "Kehinde used to purchase a gram of cocaine from Hakeem for Rs 1500 and sells it for Rs 3000," Task Force additional DCP B Limba Reddy said. Uday used to purchase cocaine from Kehinde and sell it to others for profit. Acting on a tip-off, a Task Force team led by inspector Ch Sridhar nabbed the duo while they were waiting at Jubilee Hills checkpost on Monday morning for prospective customers. They seized 13 grams of cocaine from Kehinde and two grams from Uday. Uday acted in four Tollywood movies, including 'Parare', 'Friendsbook', 'Rakshakulu' and 'Yuvarajyam'. He was earlier arrested by the Jubilee Hills police in a cheating case in 2009. Both the accused were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the CCS and they were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
