But now it seems Madonna is learning a thing or two from headline-grabber Miley Cyrus.
As the pair prepared for their duet on Miley's MTV Unplugged show on Wednesday night, Madge, 55, copied the 21-year-old's infamous tongue pose.
Posting a picture of the two, Madonna wrote: 'Don't ever Tell us We Can't STOP! #revolutionoflove.'
The message combines the song titles of Madge's 2000 worldwide hit Don't Tell Me, and Miley's recent tune We Can't Stop.
It's not the first time Madonna has worked pop stars much younger than herself.
The Ray Of Light singer performed with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, performing Like A Virgin.

Meanwhile, Madonna and Miley were rehearsing on the Hollywood sound stage yesterday, with the collaboration due to air on Wednesday night.
