Don't cry for George Clooney!
After skipping several promotional opportunities with his "Gravity" co-star Sandra Bullock, the single silver fox, 52, hit the British Academy of Film and Television Arts on Saturday, Nov. 9, with another Hollywood bombshell and close friend – Julia Roberts.
The duo, who last appeared together in "Ocean's Twelve," spent the evening laughing, sharing photos, and chatting up fellow Hollywood A-listers like Sean Penn.
"The Monuments Men" star, who split from girlfriend Stacy Keibler in July and has been rumored to be romancing Monika Jakisic and Amal Alamudd,
got plenty of attention from the bespectacled Roberts, who kept a tight
hold on her charming pal and at one point held his hand.

"I'm normally in my second REM cycle by now so let's get this done," Roberts joked on stage while she feted her pal, E! reported. "George Clooney, or as my daughter calls him, ‘George Looney.' So, so honored to be here tonight. And there are two obvious reasons why I was chosen to do this."
"One, Brad Pitt was out of town," she jested. "Two, Matt Damon, he's in town but he was unavailable. I consider George a friend. We have worked together in many capacities. We have acted together a few times. He's been my producer and my director, all of which he is immeasurably gifted at. He's handsome, he's talented, he is an exemplary humanitarian and a gifted prankster."
While Roberts was quick to point out that Clooney's closest weren't available, she didn't mention Sandra Bullock, who was seemingly available and eating dinner at Craig's in Los Angeles and could have also delivered the important speech. Nonetheless, the red-headed stunner did a pretty good job of recognizing The Cloon.

Next
up the dynamic duo will release their latest project "August: Osage
County" on December 25. Roberts stars opposite Meryl Streep and Dermot
Mulroney in the film, which Clooney co-produced.
